Shut Maintenance

Seabreeze Contracting has successfully delivered major shutdown works in the mining, water, Powergen, and gas industries safely, on time and on budget.

We provide shut maintenance in the Pilbara and have personnel that are experienced and have the expertise in shut planning and shutdown procedures to conduct a number of activities including:

  • Optimising timing and developing a schedule for the shut.
  • Determining the critical path for the activities.
  • Determining the labour, equipment and consumables required for the pre-shutdown preparation and during the shut.
  • Identifying and procuring critical spares required during the shut.
  • Finalising work scopes for engagement of contractors.
  • Determining planned maintenance activities for each engineering discipline.
  • Developing final inspection criteria.

Our highly experienced project teams along with our qualified and experienced personnel enable us to mobilise quickly and tailor select teams to suit your project specific requirements.

Our, project teams are supported by experienced on and off-site management personnel to ensure the quality and delivery of your project and service, with personnel on call 24/7.

All shutdown managers, planners, supervisors and tradesmen undertake an Accreditation Program, which ensures that our crews are competent to work safely and productively on their assigned projects.

  • Shut Planning:

Shut Planning provides greater insight into what is needed for the overhaul, giving you greater predictability for cost and time budgeting. This is required to allow sufficient time to identify and review all the work required, to plan in detail all of the activities which form the basis of each job, and to develop a schedule to identify when each task needs to be carried out.

Preparation for a shutdown also involves a large number of activities, which need to be completed ready for the start of the execution phase.

  • Critical Repairs:

Complete online monitoring of the plant’s most critical assets include shutdown protection, predictive, and performance monitoring – all integrated with the process automation system to prevent Critical Repairs.

  • Brownfields Repairs:

Brownfields Repairs is engineering designs the repairs, upgrade, replacements and/or addition or “hot” works on existing production facilities and equipment.

  • Brownfield Upgrade:

Brownfield Upgrade is a complete re-design or changes to existing facilities and equipment.

  • Preventative Maintenance:

The care and servicing by personnel for the purpose of maintaining equipment and facilities in satisfactory operating condition by providing for systematic inspection, detection, and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects.

Maintenance including tests, measurements, adjustments, and parts replacement, performed specifically to prevent faults from occurring.

The primary goal of maintenance is to avoid or mitigate the consequences of failure of equipment. This may be by preventing the failure before it actually occurs which Planned Maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance help to achieve. It is designed to preserve and restore equipment reliability by replacing worn components before they actually fail. In addition, workers can record equipment deterioration so they know to replace or repair worn parts before they cause system failure. The ideal preventive maintenance program would prevent all equipment failure before it occurs.
